We are pleased to highlight the publication of “Distributed Computing and Swarm Intelligence – Developing a Vision for Transatlantic Collaboration”, a vision paper developed within the framework of DISCOVER US. This document explores the challenges and opportunities in distributed computing and swarm intelligence, synthesizing insights from transatlantic discussions to provide actionable recommendations for future research and innovation.

Among the contributors to this initiative are Francesca Palumbo (UNICA), Melanie Schranz (LAKE), and Fred Buining (HIRO), members of the MYRTUS project. Their participation in this international exchange brought perspectives shaped by their experience in collaborative autonomous systems and distributed intelligence. Their experience in MYRTUS enriched the debate, helping to define strategic priorities for future advancements in these domains, contributing to the broader dialogue that led to this vision paper.
